Hello my Freaky Darlings!

I hope you’re all well. I am… mostly okay. The last seven days have been a bit of a write-off... 😞

Nothing I wanted to get done has happened. Even writing this has been kind of difficult. I apologise if this post comes across as a bit of whinging "woe is me", it's not my intention. I just want to be real, honest, and show that I have bad days, weeks, sometimes even months. We all do, and it's okay.

There is really only one main reason behind my off week; I have entered into that phase of the moon where my hormones are haywire. I am quieter, more emotional, very low energy, a bit anti/selectively social, getting mentally assaulted by my brain gremlins* (if I’m not careful and don’t manage to tell them to f$@k off first!), and I don’t want to have to do more than the necessary - sometimes I very literally can’t do the thing, similar to executive dysfunction^. Even doing the things I normally love to do I sometimes find hard to get into. 😕

I am aware this sounds like I may be struggling with depression. It is somewhat similar, but I know it’s not depression as I will emerge from this “down time” of my own accord. Plus, if you hadn't guessed, it repeats in monthly(ish) cycles. 😉

It does get frustrating sometimes though.

Coffee, dark chocolate, and hugs from my favourite people do help me to feel better.

On top of that this week, however, I’ve caught a cold from somewhere - nothing major, just annoying. And Tuesday morning I was rudely awakened around 3:00 am feeling rather ill… 🤮 So most of yesterday was spent recovering from that horror. Yay.

The highlight of the week was Friday when I went out for breakfast with my parents. Yep, Friday this time, not the usual Thursday. We went to CMC Cannock^ again, then we did the charity shops in the town. I was still looking for clothes to customise, and this time I didn’t come away empty handed! I got a pair of boot-cut jeans, corduroy trousers, a fitted t-shirt style top with shoulder cutouts, and a lightweight jumper, all in black. Woot! Now to figure out what to do with them… 🤔

Over the weekend I have been fixated on one thing: colouring in patterns on graph paper. I enjoy it because it relaxes me and takes my mind off things. It’s almost meditative. I usually copy cross stitch patterns or pixel art I find on the internet that amuse me and/or are cool images.

A selection of my graph paper doodles.

I did feel somewhat guilty about doing these however, and I did a lot, because in a way it was a form of procrastination from doing what I feel I should have been doing, i.e. blog posts, existing projects, and housekeeping!

*must not beat self up about this*

Oh well...

On The Website:

Nothing... 😪

I suppose updating the Index of Odd with the interesting words I used in this post could count? 🙃

In Progress This Week:

The Mystery String Art Project blog post remains half written. My shelving unit is exactly as I left it a week ago. And everything else on my to do list is just hanging around in the background, waiting...

Sorry this week has been a bit of a damp squib*. I’m not sure if the next week will have much improvement, I’ll let you know at the other end!

Hope you have a better week Darlings! See you soon.

Much Love and Blessed Be
