Black and white silhouette of a gothic window with the words Morbid Markets August 2024 written across.

Hello my Freaky Darlings!

The afternoon of Saturday 31st August saw my partner and I head into town to visit the Stafford Alternative Market, hosted by Morbid Markets, at the Oddfellows Hall.

We perused the vendors, starting downstairs and working our way upstairs to the main hall. There were a decent number of stalls to look at, all with excellent quality unusual pieces ranging from jewellery to art prints to various handicrafts.

A few artists whose works I really enjoyed looking at were:

Svenrin Art Studio with their creature illustrations.

From Lyngford with his neo traditional tattoo styled "punny" pop culture posters and other articles.

Ghost With The Most with their horror pop culture jewellery, stickers, badges and signs.

By far my favourite, however, was McLlamaPrints with her handmade, gothic horror and other weirdness, linocut prints. I instantly fell in love with one of her pieces named "Nine Hells" - more than all the others. Yes, even more than the ravens and skulls! 😅

I couldn't stop looking at it. Still can't! The red background of swirling lines and strange eyes, contrasted by nine evenly spaced blank squares each with its own black, smokey textured demon.

So in love was I, that I had to buy it!

The piece is now framed and hanging proudly on my wall at home:

Framed pictures hanging on a wall. The largest one is an original lino print called Nine Hells by McLlamaPrints.

The print before I framed it:

Unframed original lino print called Nine Hells done by McLlamaPrints.

The time and skill to produce such good prints is amazing and Llama definitely has the skills, in all her prints, and has a wonderfully weird imagination! 😄

I'm most curious about how the smoky effect was achieved with the lino... 🤔

What do you guys think of this piece? Leave your thoughts below.

Until next time!

Blessed Be and much love
